Who Has To Register
If you operate in interstate commerce, UCR applies to:
- For-hire motor carriers
- Private carriers hauling their own goods across state lines
- Freight brokers and freight forwarders
- Leasing companies
2027 UCR Fees
FMCSA raised UCR fees by an average of 20% for 2027. Registration for 2027 opens October 1, 2026.

Brokers and leasing companies pay the lowest fee ($55 for 2027) no matter how big they are.
Your bracket is based on how many trucks you own or operate. Your truck count on the MCS-150 should match. If your fleet grew or shrank, fix that first.
