Delete Your TruckWise Account

You do not need to be signed in, and you do not need to go back into the app.

You can ask us to close your TruckWise app account and delete your information. You do not need to be signed in, and you do not need to go back into the app.

Two Ways to Ask

Tell us your name, the phone number you sign in with, and your company name if you have one. We will confirm who you are before we do anything, so that nobody can close your account by pretending to be you.

What Happens

  1. We confirm it is really you.
  2. We close your login and every other login on your account.
  3. We delete the information we are not required to keep.
  4. We tell you in writing what was deleted, and what stayed and why.

We respond within 30 days and usually within two business days.

What Gets Deleted

Your login, your contact details, your notification settings, and any document or record we are not required by law to keep.

What We Have to Keep, and Why

Compliance filings and the records behind them are kept because federal and state regulations require it, and because you may need them if you are audited:

  • Driver qualification files, including medical certification status: while the driver is employed plus 3 years after (49 CFR 391.51)
  • Drug and alcohol program records: 1 to 5 years depending on the record (49 CFR 382.401)
  • IFTA records: 4 years
  • IRP records: the current registration year plus the 3 preceding years
  • Form 2290 records: 3 years
  • Invoices and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires

Before You Ask

Closing your account is not the same as ending your TruckWise service. If you want to end your service, that runs through your agreement with us, and you can ask us about it at (208) 296-6470. You can ask for your information to be deleted either way, and asking does not depend on your account being paid up.

If your account is still active, you get 30 days of read-only access after service ends so you can download your documents, and we email you a copy.
